Teen Team

The High Museum of Art’s Teen Team is a group of dynamic high school students from around Atlanta who bring varied perspectives and life experiences to the High. Teen Team members help the museum ensure that our exhibitions and programs are inclusive and relevant for the diverse communities we serve. As a member of the Teen Team, you’ll curate a community-oriented art exhibition, contribute to digital content such as artist interviews and blog posts, design events, and host public programs at the High, including Teen Night and Art Talks Back. You’ll also have opportunities to explore the museum’s collection and special exhibitions, meet museum staff and local artists, establish and advance your scholastic and professional skillset, and get a behind-the-scenes survey of museum careers.

Teen Team is a year-round commitment and a paid position.

Who can apply? Rising high school juniors and seniors enrolled for the upcoming school year are eligible to apply.

What are the requirements? Teen Team members are creative visionaries with an interest in learning about art, the workings of a museum, and serving as ambassadors for the High. They also enjoy working with visitors of all ages.

What is the schedule? The Teen Team is a one-year program, which includes participating in an eight-week summer intensive and attending regular meetings. The summer intensive runs June 1 through July 31 (excluding the week of July 4). Teen Team members also host Youth Classes and monthly Teen Friday Night Kickbacks, and they help out working with families at free Second Sundays.

How can I apply? Applications for the 2020–2021 Teen Team are open January 10–March 17, 2020. Applications are due by midnight on March 17, 2020. Apply here and submit teacher references here.
