Description

Chris Martin’s Untitled evokes a vastness that can be found in both the star-lined night sky or an endlessly stretched midnight highway. Such locational duplicity is reflective of the artist himself, who, though a long-time fixture of the New York City art scene, has a lifelong relationship with the rural Catskill mountains. A Yale dropout and retired art therapist, Martin has no qualms about using unconventional media and methods. On second look, one can see newsprint and even household paper towels in this celestial abstraction.
